Throw another log on the fire. Right now I want some cozy slippers and a stylish ivory wrap sweater to snuggle in. The Row's (#3) take on a winter wonderland wrap is heavenly.

Freeze. Capturing the "Good" days... well the days I just happen to pull it together enough to snap a picture of myself. Just for fun, try taking a webcam pic of yourself everyday for a month, it's strange to see how your makeup and hair changes even though you think you've got your routine down.
Overhauling your wardrobe takes chutzpah. My friend Melissa accepted the challenge to upgrade her style. Four hours of shopping and she walked away with numerous neutral separates that can do double and triple duty. Here's the breakdown:
4 - pants (black, gray and taupe) tip: the Loft Scuba pant maybe the most flattering pant ever!
3 - sweaters (sand, black and plum)
5 - tees & tanks (black, gray, cream and gray/navy striped)
3 - jackets (gray and black)
1 - button up (white)
1 - necklace (multi-chain silver)
1 - pair of boots (black)
1 - metallic flats (champagne)
1 - belt (black)
Here is some of what she bought (the gray jacket shown is similar in style, but not the exact Mac/Jac Jacket)

- Lunch with coworkers at Mayslack's.
- Making Pioneer Woman's Fancy Macaroni.
- Happy Hour @ Max & Mission to celebrate Jonica's new job.
- Two big family dinners with all the trimmings.
- Wearing my new boots (snow's in the forecast).
- Cocktails and power shopping @ Saks, Macy's and Len with M & K (pictures to come).

Twist's online store has an amazing assortment of laid back SoCal bracelets. The rustic mix of high and low end is right on the money.

Here's an elegant variation of the standard Cosmo. This recipe calls for Hiram Walker’s Blackberry Brandy in place of vodka. Maybe you need one of these to chase away the lingering effects of Saturday night. I'm wrapping up a girls weekend in the woods, uh pass that glass my way, it's a long ride home.
Walker Blackberry Cosmo
- 2 parts Hiram Walker Blackberry Brandy
- 1 part Cranberry Juice
- 3/4 part Hiram Walker Triple Sec
- 3/4 part Lime Juice

For years, Bobbi Brown has been one of my faves for eyes, cheeks and lips... this winter they have a sultry eye kit that is phenomenal. And don't forget the cheek stain and glossy trio both will brighten your face.

Mariah Carey has my dream closet. I am fairly certain I am not the only woman who envies the singer's storage, square footage and well appointed cubbies... they're close to perfection. Sadly, my chances of ever having a closet like Mariah’s are slim to none. Lucky for me Ballard Designs has a shoe organizer that gets me one step closer to nirvana.

I want a plaid jacket with soft draping and a muted palette, but the price must be right. My search may take me to a few vintage shops, how exciting. Here are some of my inspiration pieces.

Looking to imbibe this evening? Try something new, like a Persimmon Mojito. Yummy.
I live in the great North where some women lose their husbands to the woods on the weekends and become deer widows. Ladies, this year enjoy your alone time, splurge on your own version of a hunting outfit and track down a stellar cocktail! Happy Friday.

Crochet. It's not a sexy word, it ranks right up there with macrame and Melba Toast, right? Yet, it is back in fashion, many designers are featuring the hook and yarn handicraft. Here are some interesting examples of crocheting. Not too shabby.

Studio 54's famous gold-lame wearing crowd comes to mind when looking at this mishmash of sequined garb. Here's a thought, shock the in-laws this Thanksgiving and relive the fabulousity of the late 70's and early 80's Danceteria.

Stylish Texan Judy Aldridge of Atlantis Home wore the most resplendent mix of turquoise in her blog yesterday. It reminded me of some of the intricate pieces my mom wore in the 80's, each piece designed lovingly by an artisan in New Mexico (my Aunt). The pieces below have updated the blue-green rock by swapping out standard sterling silver for lustrous gold.
